Great Partner Video Project, Two Winners Are? Read On!

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

Back In April, I posted a story telling everyone that I was seeking partners to try out for team reality shows.  I told my story and why I was holding my own mail in tryouts for the spot of partners.  The response from that article was over whelming. I heard from folks all over the country. People e-mailed me with their opinions, and many told me to not give up on my project.  Many people told me that my idea was a braniac one and that the pursual of my project and idea was unique and different.

I had videos, e-mails, and phone contacts from all over the country.  This Project proved to be a great and rewarding experience for me.  I talked and interviewed many wonderful people.  But, I could only bring myself to narrow the margin down to two people who always stood out in my  mind.  These two people immediately made a connection with me on video and in conversations we had many times.

Thank you all so much for prompting me to move on with this project.  It was fun and challenging.  I enjoyed all your videos, and all videos have been destroyed, that are not the final two winners.

It is now time to announce the two winners.  Due to privacy that I promised both of them I will not be disclosing last names of the winners.  I do promise that these two winners and myself will be stepping forward into a reality adventure together that has never been attempted.

Congratulations to Cindy the scuba diver queen from the area of Los Angeles, California.  Cindy was hands down one of the most interesting women I have ever had the opportunity to talk to. Her strengths and weaknesses will make us one heck of a stand out team in Reality tv!

Congratulations also go out to Kraig the country gentleman that he is. He is from the area of Clay Center, Kansas.  His wife prompted him to go after the title of becoming one of the winners of the Partner Project.  Kraig’s country charm, along with all his skills, made him one of my two final choices in the Greatest Partner In America Project!

Congratulations to all Diehard Survivor and Reality TV fans. You all have been devoted to me and I have to express my sincere appreciation.

I promise that Cindy, Craig and I will forge forward to show the Reality TV world what we all are made of. Spunk, determination, and the common goal to never give up on our dreams will take all 3 of us far in this Reality chase of  “Dreams that can and Will come True.”

I will be writing soon about our new and challenging adventure together.  Wish the three of us luck.  So long to all my far and distant Diehard Friends! Watch out Reality World here ”WE” come.

Survivor 16, Diehard fans, All-stars, Which Will It Be?

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

Hello all diehard Survivor fans, it has been ages since I last wrote my thoughts. But the Survivor 16 deadline is closing in on all of us. Tuesday, July 17, 2007, is the deadline for all Survivor 16 applications and videos. At 5:oo p.m. the doors will be shut down, and all diehards will have to wait it out to see if they get a call for interviews. But, we have all been doing this for going on 8 years now, so we know what dreaming and wishing is! Anticipation is hanging high with all of us!

I have been receiving e-mails from Survivor fans all over the country asking me if I am going to try out for the 15th time. To be honest with all of you I waited until the very last minute, but I did send in application and video. I figured what do I have to lose by trying again, after all I have spent many years trying LOL! (more…)

Big Brother: Jealous Jen

Episode 3 Recap by VikingBear

Previously on Big Brother 8, fourteen house guests moved in and began the battle for a half million dollars. Six were shocked to find out they would be spending the summer with someone from their past. An estranged father and daughter, bitter ex boy friends, and these two… former best high school friends forever. We see Dustin and Joe bickering. Joe complains that Dustin’s presence will ruin his whole summer. They’re hamsters, of course… messing with them is the whole point. That’s why the show is called Big Brother.

Estranged father and daughter Dick and Daniele were forced to deal with their relationship. We see Dick being reasonable, and Daniele in tears. “I miss you a lot, Daniele.” Daniele subtitles through her tears, “This is a whole lot harder than I thought it would be.” And, we know from the live feeds, that Dick and Daniele talked about being together at the auditions.

We get treated to a reprise of Jen’s melt down upon seeing her photo on the wall. It is one of the most inexplicable melt downs I have observed… and may give the players in the house some useful insight into how to work Jen. Generally, though, the concensus on Jen is that she’s clueless. She can be tossed out the door at any time when there is no real target. This thinking could mean that Jen stays in the house quite a while!

With Kail in power, the first alliance of the summer was formed. Mrs. Robinson and her three boys are Kail, Zach, Mike, Nick. To the end. Final four. And their plan for nominations was set in motion. (more…)

Spoilers and Strategy by VikingBear

Saturday night on Big Brother, the house guests completed their first week in the Big Brother house. Yesterday afternoon in the back yard, Jameka mentioned that in about two hours we will have been in the house for a full week.

If you don’t have the live feeds, you’re missing a treat! I’m here to assure you that even on dial up they work great. We finally get to move to DSL later this week. Thanks to the BB Reloader that means I’ll get to run different feeds in different windows. Why is that important? Because Big Brother is showing both sides of the conversation at the same time. You get two or three angles, so with both playing, you can watch the body language of everyone at once. You can follow two conversations at once. It’s quite remarkable!

This morning in the Big Brother House, everyone was asleep. We had four feeds of night cam. Pretty boring, unless you’re tracking who is waking up in bed with whom! Kail, in the Head of Household room, was our early bird. (No she was not in bed alone.) She hung out in the kitchen a bit, sat in her bed reading her Bible, and eventually ended up in the kitchen chatting with Dustin.

Were they talking strategy? Not particularly. And that is the beauty of the live feeds! They were just having a nice chit chat getting to know each other. It’s with the feeds that I’m getting to know each house guest. It’s like you’re there, just hanging out and listening. You can float from conversation to conversation without being labeled a floater! People don’t stop talking just because you “entered” their space. It is, of course, bikini season.

Kail was talking with Dustin about her home town in Oregon. It rains the entire winter. People really need to live there a year before buying a house. In the summer it’s great, with the river there, such scenery and greenery. But it rains all winter and that’s hard for many people to handle.

Dustin asked if she prefers the hot or the cold. Many house guests have had a time adjusting to Southern California afternoon heat! Kail prefers the heat to the cold. Me, I’ll take the Minnesota cold. You can always put another jacket on. When it stays below freezing you don’t need to worry about getting soaking wet. When it gets too hot, what do you do? It sure rains at home in Oregon, but it never rains in southern California!

Okay, so that was a pointless morning conversation with Dustin and Kail - the rest of the hamsters were still asleep - but not really. The early birds can have strategic conversations with nobody else the wiser. In fact Dustin then went back to bed for another hour and a half of sleep. So there’s no evidence any conversation even could have taken place. That’s no big deal by itself, but as Dr. Will showed last summer, you take a piece here and a piece there and over time your web is everywhere.

Kail might be hurting herself by spending too much time isolated in the HoH room. She’s not getting out and mingling enough. Maybe! On the other hand, these single conversations may hold her safe long enough to become better established, to better see how things lie.

Kail seems to have an explicit alliance with three of the men. Sorry I didn’t catch which three! Two men were in the HoH room talking with her. They were explaining to her that if the vote were announced as seven to three, the alliance would be exposed. People would figure out who the three are and they’d know that the three are an alliance.

Kail said there’s thirteen votes. A man said no there’s eleven votes. The HoH and nominees don’t vote. Okay, yes, eleven votes. Seven to three doesn’t add up to thirteen, but some day they may realize it also doesn’t add up to eleven.

At this point we seem to have a five-person alliance that includes both Daniele and her estranged father Dick. We also have the four-person alliance of Kail and three men. I personally think it’s too early for either such alliance.

At this early point in the game I see the early bird strategy as a relatively strong one. Get to know people quietly in the morning. It sets a tone for the day. More happens late in the evening, but there are enough drunken mistakes to cancel out the gains. Either way you’re helping to set other peoples’ expectations.

The Veto Ceremony is happening as I type this. Will Daniele alter the nominations? Probably not. Chances are good that the most annoying person will be sent home. That’s probably Carol. If Daniele uses the veto, Joe could be put up because he too is annoying. Kail might even do that to make points with her new friend Dustin.

Another reason to put Joe up is to force him to expose his ability. One can learn an awful lot by observing how the nominees react!

If Carol and Amber remain on the block, the votes will come from seven men and four women, at least two of the men being gay. Amber’s strategy seems to involve flashing the men, and Carol’s strategy seems to be limited to whining and complaining. At this point Carol the spoiled princess seems most likely to depart.

Pirate Master: The Four Woman Vote

Strategy commentary by VikingBear

This week on Pirate Master, I realized a game rule that I should have realized all along! Red Crew and Black Crew are evenly divided by gender. When composing the Black Crew and Red Crew, the pirates draw shot from a bag. Red shot means Red Crew and black shot means Black crew. Have you noticed that women draw from one bag and men draw from another bag?

Captain and officers, as always, form the core of Black Crew. Azmyth, Ben, and Jay took their black sashes to begin the choosing of the crews. Our host set out the two bags of shot - but he told us that, for the men, it was just a formality. I hadn’t realized that! But there you are: The men get divided between the two crews as evenly as possible. And therefore, of course, the women also get divided as evenly as possible.

With male captain and officers already on Black Crew, the other two men automatically became part of Red Crew. That fact shows us a way for the women to completely take over the ship! The five women, as of now, can put themselves in the final five, and there is nothing the men can do about it. I hope they’re listening! (more…)
