Big Brother 7 All Stars: Will Moves Into The Middle Game

Monday, July 31st, 2006

Spoiler and strategy commentary by VikingBear

This week on Big Brother All Stars, we see Will changing his strategy. In many ways we are seeing the players develop their position as in a chess game. With a chess game, we have the opening moves, the middle game, and the end game. This week in the Big Brother House, we see the transition from the opening moves, to the middle game.

Of the remaining All Stars, Will seems to be the best strategist. That doesn’t mean he will win… (more…)

Big Brother 7 All Stars: Dude She’s Totally Into You

Recap by VikingBear

Previously on Big Brother All Stars, for three straight weeks the Season 6 Alliance dominated the game. The domination continued when James won Head of Household. And with James in power they set their sights on Chicken George.

But George would not go down without a fight. Janelle, “The Golden Power of Veto goes to Chicken George.”

Jase lost control when he found out he was the new target. He had a flaming fit. Will revealed his true feelings to everyone. Will, “I hate you all.”

As part of the damage control, Boogie did Will’s dirty work. Boogie jumped in the Head of Household bath tub between Erika and Janelle. That was the dirty work.

Julie, “Jase, by a vote of nine to zero… (more…)

Big Brother 7 All Stars: Too Much Strategy

Strategy commentary by VikingBear

This week on CBS Big Brother All Stars, the Season Six alliance spends all night every night talking strategy. Why? Don’t they already have a plan? Sure… but they also have James.

It looks to me like we have the same James as last year. He can’t keep his mind made up! As Howie and Kaysar put it, James is always coming in with a new he said / she said, and the plan changes all over again. With James as… (more…)

Big Brother 7 All Stars: All Star Bowling

Monday, July 24th, 2006

Recap by VikingBear

“Previously on Big Brother All Stars, Kaysar as Head of Household targeted the floaters. The food competition left half the household eating slop. The Season Six Alliance mobilized to save Nakomis. But when the vote was announced, Nakomis became the second All Star evicted from the Big Brother House.”

If you missed the show when Nakomis was evicted, and you also missed the recap above, don’t worry. We’ll cover that same fact several more times this episode. We’ll even cover it in Black and White so that you don’t think we’re running the same footage over and over again. Announcing the eviction may not be Julie’s finest moment, but it’s pretty much her only moment, and I suspect that’s why we get to see her evict each All Star over and over again.

“At the Head of Household competition, Season Six proved to be unbeatable once again. Who will James nominate for eviction? And how will the house respond to being dominated by Season Six? Find out tonight on Big Brother All Stars.”

If you missed anything mentioned in the summary of what we watched last week, don’t worry. We’ll see it again tonight.

The credits: Marcellas, Janelle, Will, Kaysar as Alison and Nakomis depart, Danielle, Howie, Mike, George, Diane, James, Erika, Jase.

We see the eviction again, in… (more…)

Big Brother 7 All Stars: Guide the Bowling Ball For A Feast

Spoiler by VikingBear

Today on Big Brother All Stars, the house guests competed for food. Last week half the house - the losing side - went without food for the whole week. This week each pair of house guests competed for a single day’s food choices.

The back yard at Big Brother House appeared to be very hot. I was a bit worried for Chicken George. But he came through! The competition was… (more…)

Big Brother 7 All Stars: Chicken George as the Lonely Janitor

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

Strategy commentary by VikingBear

Last night on Big Brother All Stars, we saw Marcellas and Janelle make up soap opera roles for the other House Guests. They cast Erika as the Sultry Brunette, and Chicken George as the Lonely Janitor.

I’m still trying to figure out George’s strategy if any. He seems mostly just pleased as Punch to be there. He seems surprised to still be there. He knows he’s an amateur among wolves. The rest of the house seems to have forgotten that George is the senior house guest. I don’t mean that he’s the oldest. I mean that he was among the pioneers.

George is… (more…)

Big Brother 7 All Stars: Erika the Sultry Brunette

Strategy commentary by VikingBear

Tonight on Big Brother All Stars, Erika appeared in her birthday suit. It was Mike Boogie’s birthday. The house guests got Erika to lay on top of the table, and someone carefully wrote Happy Birthday on her legs in whip cream. Quite the work of art! Boogie licked off the whip cream, but I don’t know if he got his wish.

Erika the Sultry Brunette Hamster

Janelle and Marcellas stood in front of the memory wall and decided that it reminded them of a bunch of soap opera stars. They made up names and roles for each All Star. Big Brother then played us a promo for each made-up role. We saw Erika as the Sultry Brunette, and Will as the Evil Manipulator.

We saw the veto competition. It was a golf game. James carefully played to lose. This season the veto competitors consist of the Head of Household, the two nominees, and three others chosen at random. Therefore each nominee pretty much has the other five working against her.

If the Head of Household wins, he or she won’t use the veto. We saw that last week. If the person chosen at random wins, he or she also won’t use the veto. One of the random players, James, purposely lost. Another random player, Erika the Sultry Brunette, won and chose to not use the veto. The third random player, Will, would have risked his partner’s eviction if he’d used the veto.

Based on the first two weeks of competition, I’d say the Head of Household has FAR more power than in prior seasons, because the veto is far less likely to do someone any good. In prior seasons, the nominees got to choose a competitor.

Also based on the first two weeks of competition, the Head of Household is pretty much random. The competitions have been… (more…)

Big Brother 7 All Stars: Nominees Diane and Nakomis, Claws Versus Brains

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

Strategy commentary by VikingBear

This week on Survivor, Diane and Nakomis have been nominated for eviction. Erika has chosen to not use her Power of Veto. So who is leaving? Or, more importantly, who is staying?

Once one of the two women is gone, she’s gone. She has no further effect on Big Brother House. So, from a strategy standpoint, it… (more…)

Treasure Hunters: Geniuses Make A Good Decision

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

Commentary by VikingBear

This week on Treasure Hunters, we saw the result of last week’s “to be continued” swamphanger. I don’t know how it does for ratings, but I seriously hope NBC renews the show. I love it! It’s closer to what The Amazing Race used to be, and everything The Amazing Race Family Edition should have been.

I give Kayte Fogal… (more…)

Big Brother 7 All Stars: Time For The Floaters To Stop Floating

Monday, July 17th, 2006

Strategy commentary by VikingBear

Today on Big Brother All Stars, we completed the Nomination Ceremony. Erika chose to not use her Power of Veto.

This means the Season Six alliance continues to roll along unchecked. This also means that Will and Boogie remain safe. This means either Diane or Nakomis will be evicted this week.

We know that Kaysar has a master plan. They talk about it every evening. It’s a good plan with a strong campaign laid out. Does it have weaknesses? Are there ways to beat it? Sure!

Can Will and… (more…)
