Big Brother 7 All Stars: Chicken George as the Lonely Janitor
Strategy commentary by VikingBear
Last night on Big Brother All Stars, we saw Marcellas and Janelle make up soap opera roles for the other House Guests. They cast Erika as the Sultry Brunette, and Chicken George as the Lonely Janitor.
I’m still trying to figure out George’s strategy if any. He seems mostly just pleased as Punch to be there. He seems surprised to still be there. He knows he’s an amateur among wolves. The rest of the house seems to have forgotten that George is the senior house guest. I don’t mean that he’s the oldest. I mean that he was among the pioneers.
George is… playing that out to some extent. He’s having fun with the “chicken” theme, giving it full play. He’s helping around the house, doing laundry for people, cleaning up after the guests have eaten. He’s doing his best to create something edible from the Big Brother Slop. This kind of friendly helpful attitude plays extremely well on Survivor. I’ll be interested in seeing how well it plays amongst the wolves.
George is not part of the “in” crowd. He’s floating around, sure, but his low key approach may pay off well. I hope it does!
George knows the floaters need to do something. But what? They need someone to rally ’round. They’re not going to rally ’round the janitor. George knows this! But once there is a leader available, George could be a very handy ally.
The Head of Household competition, so far, is a fairly poor joke. The winner is pretty much chosen at random. That doesn’t make the HoH competition any less important, though!
Consider… what if Chicken George were to win the third Head of Household contest? He must nominate people. From George’s standpoint, he has nothing to lose. He figures he’s very unlikely to win. He might decide, what the heck, I’m dead anyway, why not strike one for the good guys.
For example, he might decide he has nothing to lose by putting up James and Janelle. That gives the floaters their foothold they need. He can go to Boogie and say he doesn’t expect any promises, but hopes Boogie and Will will remember that George didn’t put them up. He can also go to Kaysar and note that, by putting up James and Janelle, he kept the heat off Kaysar. Again, no promises expected, but he hopes he’ll be remembered favorably down the line.
George can then leave it up to the rest of the house to fight over which way to vote, and whether to veto.
If Chicken George as the Lonely Janitor decides he has nothing to lose, he just might make a strong move. And he just might make a few powerful friends in the process.
What a great season!
