Big Brother 7 All Stars: Erika the Sultry Brunette
Strategy commentary by VikingBear
Tonight on Big Brother All Stars, Erika appeared in her birthday suit. It was Mike Boogie’s birthday. The house guests got Erika to lay on top of the table, and someone carefully wrote Happy Birthday on her legs in whip cream. Quite the work of art! Boogie licked off the whip cream, but I don’t know if he got his wish.

Janelle and Marcellas stood in front of the memory wall and decided that it reminded them of a bunch of soap opera stars. They made up names and roles for each All Star. Big Brother then played us a promo for each made-up role. We saw Erika as the Sultry Brunette, and Will as the Evil Manipulator.
We saw the veto competition. It was a golf game. James carefully played to lose. This season the veto competitors consist of the Head of Household, the two nominees, and three others chosen at random. Therefore each nominee pretty much has the other five working against her.
If the Head of Household wins, he or she won’t use the veto. We saw that last week. If the person chosen at random wins, he or she also won’t use the veto. One of the random players, James, purposely lost. Another random player, Erika the Sultry Brunette, won and chose to not use the veto. The third random player, Will, would have risked his partner’s eviction if he’d used the veto.
Based on the first two weeks of competition, I’d say the Head of Household has FAR more power than in prior seasons, because the veto is far less likely to do someone any good. In prior seasons, the nominees got to choose a competitor.
Also based on the first two weeks of competition, the Head of Household is pretty much random. The competitions have been… silly and arbitrary. Therefore the largest alliance - Season Six - is most likely to win Head of Household.
Erika the Sultry Brunette explained in the Diary Room, she doesn’t want to make any big moves. She wants to win. That, perhaps, says it all. The Veto, this season, is not likely to be used. The Head of Household has the power.
Tonight we saw more of Kaysar. Kaysar has a great campaign going, but I do think he’s missing something. Kaysar’s missing the emotional component. He’s mounting a military-style campaign - and doing it well. The plan is entirely logical. What’s missing, though, is the emotional connection. Janelle needs that emotional connection, and she doesn’t have it. This could cost Kaysar, perhaps even quite soon. They don’t trust James, but James can bounce Janelle’s head around, because he can reach her on that emotional level.
Kaysar is playing to keep himself safe. If Season Six comes to the idea that Kaysar’s keeping himself safe at the potential cost of his allies, well, the reaction will be an emotional one not a logical one. Kaysar will counter the emotion with logic, and the situation will quite possibly get away from him. Let’s watch and see!
Mike Boogie, in my opinion, is the most dangerous person in the house. So long as Boogie is in the house, Will will play for Mike to win. Playing for Mike to win means playing for everyone else to go home, one way or another. As Will explained on camera tonight, his campaign is a subtle one. He can plant seeds with the luxury of waiting days or weeks for germination and gestation. He can play fearlessly because Will really doesn’t care if he goes home or not. He can bluff with impunity.
I think we’ll soon see an uprising of the floaters. It may well be led by Nakomis or Diane. The target will probably be the Season Six alliance - as encouraged by Will and Boogie. The smarter move, I think, is to evict Boogie while that’s still possible. Then the next week, or the week after, begin to take apart the Season Six alliance.
Once the floaters evict Boogie (if they can) and take apart Season Six, carnage everywhere, who is left standing? It just might be Erika the Sultry Brunette!
