Big Brother 7 All Stars: Wielding the Veto

Strategy commentary by VikingBear

This week on Big Brother All Stars, Kaysar is Head of Household. He has nominated Diane and Nakomis for eviction. Erika holds the Power of Veto. Erika and Kaysar are sparking a “showmance” between themselves.

Kaysar may have overplayed his hand. He and the Jedi Council of Kaysar, Janelle, Howie, and James have developed a strong plan of campaign. However, based on last night’s… discussions, it looks like the finer points of the plan might have passed over Janelle’s head. On the other hand, it appears equally likely that Janelle senses that Kaysar is playing a game within the game, and that she intuitively realizes that Kaysar is playing for himself even more than he’s playing for the Jedi Council.

Kaysar has an agreement with Will and Boogie. By not putting them up this week, he’s expecting Will and Boogie to put up floaters next week, leaving Kaysar’s alliance alone. That’s assuming, of course, that Will and Boogie win Head of Household.

I was talking with Big Sister this morning, and she thinks Will and Boogie don’t even want to remain in the house beyond the first couple of weeks. They’re there to have fun and that’s about it. This does match Will’s remark from earlier in the week, that he is not going to Sequester.

Last night Boogie got totally trashed. He threw a fit because it was his birthday, and he had no means to get trashed. It’s not a birthday without getting drunk. They got the alcohol; Boogie got trashed. The interesting thing, though, is that he spent the evening - while trashed - in trying to recruit Howie into Chill Town.

Put all this together, and Kaysar has the opportunity to make a strong move. As I said, he may have overplayed his hand. He could soon be marked for elimination.

What he could do is this: Convince Erika to use the Power of Veto to save Nakomis. Put up Boogie instead. Is he going back on his agreement? No, of course not. That agreement was void the moment Boogie tried to recruit Howie. When they’re recruiting Howie, there is no agreement.

Both Nakomis and Diane, then, campaign to evict Boogie. Nakomis has her wake up call, and Kaysar explains he’s going to need her help quite soon. He needed to put them up to shake the alliances into the open; having done that, he needs Diane and Nakomis.

Why Boogie and not Will? Because Will, rumor has it, campaigned to get Boogie in the house. He’s there for Boogie. Remove Boogie, and you’ve struck at Will as well. With Will gone, Boogie might well continue on his own. Will might not bother.

Kaysar then has the option of taking his game a step further. He could drop his current alliance (either secretly or openly) and form a new alliance of floaters - beginning with Erika, Diane, and Nakomis. It might not be hard getting the floaters to target Janelle, Howie, and James!

Kaysar, at the moment, appears to be a strong strategist. I don’t know if he’ll see the opportunity to move on and turn the game upside down. Evicting Boogie this week could be a strong move, and it would throw the season back over to make it interesting. I don’t really think Kaysar will do this, but no question Boogie’s antics gave him the opening to do so.

when kaysar made his deal with chilltown, he did not put in a condition that would prohibit chilltown from recruiting anyone

so if chilltown goes after howie, that does not negate the deal that kaysar offered chilltown

    Hey dmgcats :)

No doubt that’s how Chill Town would see it. All we need is a way for Kaysar to rationalize it that sounds good. I think Boogie did himself so much damage last night that if he DOES get back doored it just might stick.

Kaysar’s making such a play - which sure does sound like he lied and betrayed Chill Town - could gain him a lot of respect as a dangerous player. But Kaysar’s game plan is to be honest and straight up. Strong plan, but this could be a fun alternative :)

It could, of course, bite him in a big way. That, too, would be entertaining!

But Chill Town had no intention of keeping they’re deal to begin with.

    Hi mycat!

You’re right, of course, and every body assumes they know that. The whole issue from Kaysar’s standpoint seems to be how he (Kaysar) is perceived. So you’re right, any excuse will do to get the job done :)

Mike Boogie sucks.. And Will too… I think Kaysar’s playing a good game. But I think he needs to make things clear with the *Jedi Council* cuzz their a lot of problems thats are starting.. Howie, Janelle, Kaysar need to trust each other and not others..

Kaysar’s playing on a logical level but Janelle is reached on an emotional level. She says that’s why she sees Diane as dangerous to her - emotion. I completely agree, it could get away from Kaysar if he stays only with the logic. The logic can be perfect, but meaningless in a vacuum.

I don’t think Season Six has the emotional connection with each other. I could be wrong though.

Boogie’s an ass and so is Howie. I don’t like either one’s behavior. I do like Will this time around. I’m enjoying the manipulation. And when he’s not manipulating things, people still assume he is. Love it!

    Thanks for stopping by :-)
